Stressful Minesweeper
A downloadable game for Windows
For my latest project, I've created an even more stressful version of Minesweeper!
If you didn't know, Minesweeper is a game where you click on tiles and avoid mines. Tiles have numbers on them indicating how many mines are in the surrounding 8 tiles. Use this information to avoid clicking on the mines! You can mark a tile as being a mine by either right-clicking it or holding control and left-clicking it. You need to click on each tile that isn't a mine to win.
This game has three levels of difficulty: practice mode, stressful mode, and panic mode. Practice mode is just regular minesweeper, so it's perfect for getting used to the rules. Stressful mode includes three added challenges which are added as you get closer to completion. Finally, panic mode includes harder versions of the challenges present in stressful mode.
There are three added challenges to this game:
- The Time limit: A five-minute timer is present, but you don't get to look at it. When you have about 90 seconds left, the lights will turn red and an alarm will start playing.
- The Shakes: Halfway through stressful mode and present in all of panic mode, pressing a tile may cause your screen to shake. When this happens, the values displayed on each tile may be distorted.
- The Heartbeat: You have a maximum time in between clicks. For stressful mode, you have 15 seconds. For panic mode, you only have 12. A heartbeat sound lets you know that you need to click on something soon.
Enjoy the game and feel free to comment any feedback or suggestions!
